There was a sunshine meeting earlier today on How the Village can better communicate with residents on important decisions the Village makes, and how the Village can better inform residents to be active participants in their government, including improving the Village’s public notice laws and laws surrounding public engagement.
It starts by showing that the council can act like adults. No one wants to participate when the leaders in the room are posturing politically and ignoring those of us that show up and comment. It starts by heeding the sound advice from legal council on losing battles and not taking every not in my back yard issue. These Hail Mary attempts to make a name for ones self or only self serving. Being the selfless leader instead of the posturing to get in front of the camara and mislead the public with opinion instead of just the facts and all the facts. Maybe then, more people will want to get involved.
