Allowing fpublic comments is an important aspect of promoting fairness, inclusivity, and democratic participation. It ensures that every individual has an opportunity to express their views and concerns, regardless of their background or position.

I oppose this ordinance because it does not allow residents to hear thoughts of other residents either during the meeting or watching it later. I think the council can spare ONE MINUTE to hear from the residents of Palmetto Bay! Vote NO ON THIS ORDINANCE!

Reading comments submitted by residents during the meeting allows everyone, whether attending the meeting in person or virtually, or watching/listening to the meetings later, allows everyone the opportunity to hear other people's thoughts. The Council typically has limited reading of comments to the first one minute. Don't residents deserve at least one minute of the council's time? Therefore, I oppose this ordinance as I believe it will discourage public participation.
